Small versions of CaldersReblog of the day! This is the last week to catch Calder 1941 at 32 East 57th Street. Due to the holidays we will be closing at 2pm this Friday, we hope you can catch the show before then!
Ainda bem que eu inclui Calder 1941 na minha lista de exposições pra conferir na cidade antes de sair de férias, porque a experiência de ver de pertinho um móbile orginial foi encantadora. Setenta anos depois, e é surpreendente que as estruturas ainda se movimentem com tamanha desenvoltura e delicadeza. Alexander Calder inventou o móbile em 1930, expandindo de forma radical o conceito de escultura. Em 1941 ele teve seu período mais profícuo, em que misturou materiais tão diversos quanto corda, arame e madeira, e experimentou com o tempo e a gravidade. Calder 1941 fica na The Pace Gallery do Upper East Side só até 23 de dezembro.
